shifting opinions

Heartening news from the WSJ today via Kevin Drum:

A new poll from Harris Interactive found that 55% of Americans think gays and lesbians should be allowed to serve openly in the military.

This is up from 48% in 2000. And 64% of respondents aged 18-30 felt this way. It is clear where public opinion is headed on this issue, although it may take time for the government to catch up.
